ISU, LGU, DOST Join Forces to Raise Munggo Quality

ISU—San Mateo after successfully collaborating with the Local Government Unit and Department of Science and Technology signed a memorandum of understanding to advance each other’s interest in innovation and technology-transfer.
Bearing the project proposal title “Integrated Research Extension and Enterprise Development of MungBean in Cagayan Valley”, The Isabela State University—San Mateo Campus, LGU, and DOST joined forces to establish a research facility dedicated to unlock MungBean’s hidden potentials.
The signing and ceremony was held at ISU—San Mateo’s Amphitheater with where DOST secretary Hon. Fortunato T. Dela Peña himself was the guest of honor. Secretary Fortunato noted the importance of Mung Bean industry in Food Security and swears to develop it into products of great benefit.
Plans were all presented with the aim to introduce Mung Bean in the national and global market. Secretary Fortunato also said that such plans will never be possible without the Isabela State University and LGU’s help. Other notable individuals present were Mayor Crispina Agcaoilli M.D, Vice Mayor Roberto Agcaoilli, Municipal Council Members, Japanese Visitors, DOST officials , ISU officials especially ISU President Dr. Ricmar P. Aquino and ISU—San Mateo’s staff led by Campus Administrator Dr. Rosalie Leal.
